https://universeathome.pl/universe/result.php?resultid=130033844 has been running for 8.5 days of computation on my Android phone. They're usually about a day. The percentage complete goes to 100 in the normal time, then goes back to zero, like it made a mistake and is trying again. I've seen this before where it takes 2 or 3 goes and it then finishes. Should I leave this one running? It's nearing the deadline. I'm not concerned about credits I'm concerned about making good use of the task and finding out the problem.

Cancel it, please.
It is rare situation but sometimes especially in Linux tasks something going wrong with tasks.
I never found a reason of this behaviour and it is not reproduce even if you run exactly same task on other machine...

Thanks, I only see it happening on my two Android phones, never on my 7 Windows 10 machines. So shall I in the future cancel anything that jumps back to the start? Might aswell have it go to another machine to try.

Yes.
But usually it is very rare situation, less then 10 tasks in every 1'000'000 on Linux, On Android situation is bit more complicated as is very large number of different 'versions' of system with mix of different additions from different mobile providers...

Do you notice them restarting? My android phones get some that run two or three times then complete successfully. The percentage resets back to zero once or twice, but the timer keeps running. Very occasionally they repeat several times and approach the deadline, which makes me notice them. It can't be due to interruptions, as one of the phones does nothing but Boinc and is never moved.

The ETA is just very long. Just several minutes in the ETA can be 1day+ when normal run time is like 10 hours.

Not sure what you mean by that.
