You can only delete a host when it has no tasks still assigned to it in the database. If you had a single task still in one of the task categories, it would be impossible to delete. Only think you can do is merge the old computer into the new host. If a project has had corruption or data loss in the database where tasks have been orphaned in the database, it will be forever impossible to delete a host. That is the situation I fall into for an old host at Milkyway for example. I will never be able to delete the host. A host will fall off the active computers list once it hasn't contacted the project for over 30 days so then it becomes forgettable and not listed. A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Keith i really appriciate you help Yes i did have incomplete tasks on the old one. I have tried to merge and i get this message: Sometimes BOINC assigns separate identities to the same computer by mistake. You can correct this by merging old identities with the newest one. Host 581363 has an incompatible CPU: (ARM ARMv7 Processor rev 4 (v7l) [Impl 0x41 Arch 7 Variant 0x0 Part 0xd03 Rev 4], ARM ARMv7 Processor rev 5 (v7l)) Host 590809 has an incompatible CPU: (ARM ARMv7 Processor rev 4 (v7l) [Impl 0x41 Arch 7 Variant 0x0 Part 0xd03 Rev 4], ) No hosts are eligible for merging with this one. But i am currently running rosetta@home perfect on the new computer. Also i think creating a new account is broken the captha never works on different browsers. |

Yes, the merge function doesn't work a lot of times for little issues with identification. Frustrating. You can sometimes play games with the hostid in the client_state.xml and edit the old hostid into the current host. But you have to remember to increment the rpc_seqno by one of the old host or the server will just send you another new hostid frustrating you further. I did that when I converted all my hosts from Windows to Linux and wanted to preserve the credit and creation date history of all my original hosts. Merge won't let you merge incompatible OS' for example. A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Well i went bank to the old computer, logged i to BOINC there was no tasks, requested and started 3 of them then chose no new tasks and in 5hrs i will update when they are complete and see if that works. But like u said its probably as OS issue |
