Did you not say once there was a faster network being given to your server? It was. When we move to CAMK we got 1Gbit pipe instead of (If my memory still work well) 100 or 300Mbit previously. Krzysztof 'krzyszp' Piszczek Member of Radioactive@Home team My Patreon profile Universe@Home on YT |

The amount of research that will have been done during the competition is surely worth it. Not necessarily, if a lot of people are quiting the project due to the problem, you lose in the long term. And these are the people who are crunching the whole year, instead of just 2 weeks a year. Short term, you win maybe, but long term, you can lose a lot of users. Bad publicity if you cannot upload or download any work for weeks. And as the saying goes: Trust (in a project) Arrives on Foot and Leaves on Horseback. It takes long to get a lot of trust, but you can loose it very, very quickly with this kind of actions. |

I assume that's some pathetic dig at the Scot's diet. As an American you should not poke fun, the whole world laughs at your country.did your team let you use their krunchie program to bunker? you should ask them.In summary, calm down, wait it out, and engage with SETI Germany to determine how their competition can have a lesser impact on projects going forward. Not announcing the project name before the sprint would be a good idea. Bunkering is just silly. |

I doubt many people are stupid enough to leave due to short term problems. The amount of research that will have been done during the competition is surely worth it. |

To give up on something because it's temporarily down is very stupid.I doubt many people are stupid enough to leave due to short term problems. Not everyone who have another opinion than yours is automatically stupid... Your childish remark just shows you up as one of those listed above. |

Bunkering is just silly. you'd know if you read the SG Pent chat box yesterday. one of your team mates anonymously leaked it's existence. a program or service called "krunchie" for automated bunkering. if you don't know about it, then it seems your team doesn't trust you enough yet. weird flex on Americans though, since one of the top contributers to your team (PecosRiverM) is a red white and blue blooded Texan lol |

With all the global firepower out there I'm shocked there isn't more projects out there to slice the pie further. Either the world has run out scientific endeavors or the importance of what we do is overstated. There are many "problems" associated with running BOINC projects... One needs a suitably good "project" for people to support, with clear aims and goals One needs plenty of actual "real world tasks", in order to satisfy the demand for tasks. One needs plenty of "bandwidth" to be able to feed that demand for tasks One needs reliable and capacious hardware platforms on which to run the project One needs money for admin/support staff to run the server and keep tasks flowing One needs patience to deal with short term problems (as every project will face at some point) (I could go on, but you get the point...) Ticking all of these boxes (and more perhaps) is something that not every project can do...and therein lies the problem - running a BOINC project with limited appeal, off low-end hardware and with little support just doesn't work...and there are a few projects that are like this even now. regards Tim |

Just wanted to thank @Kryzsztof for being a great BOINC project Admin, and dealing with the sometimes chaotic nature of BOINC and BOINC crunchers. The constant communication with participants is greatly appreciated. |

This is an example of what we think of your intelligence: https://youtu.be/kRh1zXFKC_o since one of the top contributers to your teamReally? You're digging into my team now? Look, if you want a threesome just ask. (PecosRiverM) is a red white and blue blooded Texan lolThe biggest is Polish. And actually, it just goes to show Pecos doesn't like his own country and prefers mine. |

Or to look at the other way, Boinc projects are for the small fry without cash. You just need an admin and a server (on top of your research staff obviously). Those with loads of money use their own hardware. LHC for example only does a small proportion on Boinc, most is done on their own systems. With all the global firepower out there I'm shocked there isn't more projects out there to slice the pie further. Either the world has run out scientific endeavors or the importance of what we do is overstated. |

To be (slightly) less childish, what is surprising is that the whole "task blocked issue" has suddenly solved very quickly for most of our crunchers (who reported it) at l'AF. So a huge saturation of the servers finally vanished in a very short time, for what is seems. Curious. (I said slightly less childish ;) ) |

I don't do chat boxes, I'm not 13. I guess you must be 13, since according to the chat logs you were in that very chat box. but quickly turned tail when you were ridiculed for your nonsensical NPC behavior. can't take the heat I guess lol. |

Nobody is trying to get more work for the competitions now, just trying to send stuff back. So it's caught up. |

No, I just couldn't be bothered with the stupid response from someone in a team who doesn't even have a loyalty to a country, but a review site! Who cares about Anandtech?!I don't do chat boxes, I'm not 13. |
