Isn't that the damaged motherboard? Are you still going to try and use it?

I finally found settings to get the Q Code to stop displaying "33" all the time. Now it comes up as "AA".

This the "Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming WiFi II" MB that I was originally going to use on the GPU Server. It provides a mechanically undamaged and now properly behaving x570 MB with all those LLC etc bios controls. It sounds like it is my best bet for implementing a fully OCed 3950x CPU.

The MSI x570 Godlike (damaged) MB is currently crunching on the test bench. There is a pretty good chance it is going to turn into the GPU Server MB if it runs multiple days without generating bad data. In any case the GPU server will be returning to 4 gpus (I hope).

New Egg has shipped out a replacement EPYC MB. Which means, if the Godlike falls through I can still switch to a good, reliable EPYC GPU Server. If I don't use the EPYC for the GPU Server it is likely to land in my oldest server case pushing a pair of gtx 1080's till I can afford a CPU upgrade. How far an upgrade? TBD.

And that is the news from out "Here" Ks (a inside joke from my local NPR affiliate).

OK, when you start using the Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming board, get me the BIOS settings.txt dump file via PM so I can look at it and recommend turning off counter-productive settings and recommend some settings values I know work on both the 3950X and 5950X cpus.

Got the first step done. The 3950x box is now back to running nothing but CPU tasks.

If my energy is up to it I will swap in the Strix x570-E MB later today.

Due to a Thunderstorm and Insomnia attack the Strix x570-e MB is now installed and running "auto" except for the D.O.C.P. profile.

If I am not confused I have a baseline profile and an auto profile saved.

I will take a break/nap and then get the email of the x470 3950x profile out and see how close I can come to applying it. Will then try to make my 3rd Profile (I think I will call it KeithsRec :)

And dump it to PM to you.

Later,

Apparently I am confused. The only way to save bios profiles is directly to the USB drive.

And I have yet to find one after I have "save" a profile, inspite of multiple trys.

What I have been able to do is apply all the LLC-related settings listed in your email, Keith, turn off the spread spectrum.

I had to re-apply the thermal paste and tighten down the liquid pump so that it would go below 80C first, though.

And overclock to 4.150 GHz while keeping the CPU temperature below 75C (last time I looked).

On a 3950x it looks like CPU voltage 1.30 (auto or fixed) will allow 4.150 GHz without the CPU temperature getting above 80C.

4.175 just rendered system non-responsive overnight after NOT apparently increasing the CPU temperature for t he first couple of hours.

My RAC seems to be rising. Is this a project wide thing?

Why don't you use the Stats tab in the Manager. That shows your RAC progress. Set it to 180 days to get a clearer picture of your long-standing RAC.

My RAC here at Universe has been absolutely flat lined for the past 3 months. No abrupt change in RAC here for any of my hosts.

Mine generally moves around slightly, roughly +/- 1,000 or so day to day.
Having a fixed Credit per Task, with a batch of longer running Tasks my RAC drops slightly, with shorter Tasks it goes up slightly. So while day by day it might vary, but week to week it remains pretty much steady.
